Festival Quijote

We're driving a long distance. What are our options for lodging?
While there certainly are hotels available in the area, please contact 2008
Festival Quijote coordinator
Mary Lynn Montgomery if you and your students
would like to be hosted by a nearby metro school and their Spanish
students.

Who can participate?
All current middle school /junior high and high school students of an AATSP
member are invited and encouraged to participate.

What is the cost and where do I send payment?
The entry fee is $7.00 per student (not per entry, meaning the student may
submit multiple entries and pay only $7.00), payable by the registration
deadline, March 14, 2008.  The $7.00 entry fee is not transferable to any
other student and is non-refundable. Payment status will be verified at
check-in. Send checks made to AATSP-MN to:

    Mary Lynn Montgomery
    Coon Rapids High School
    2340 Northdale Blvd.
    Coon Rapids, MN  55433

My students want to enter, but can't attend/stay the whole time.  Can
they still participate?
While "the more the merrier" holds very true, only students who are
performing live are required to attend the event.  All others can submit their
entries without attending.  Video entries must be mailed by March 15, but
displays may be sent with a teacher or a fellow student to be judged on the
day of the event.

Who are the judges and how do I become one?
Our judges are teachers, student teachers, and other Spanish-speaking
enthusiasts.  It is a great way to "test the waters" if you are a teacher curious
about having your own students participate and to become involved in
AATSP events. Please consider judging for us! Visit the
Judges page for
more information.

Is there a Quijote-like event for elementary students?
In 2007 we had the first Festival del Pequeño Quijote, and we hope to
continue this event in conjunction with the Festival Quijote.  Stay tuned for
more information.
